A warm home for lone soldiers

A warm home for lone soldiers – There are many things that can be said about the State of Israel, and one of them is that the army is an inseparable part of our lives. All citizens of the state are required to enlist in the IDF at the age of 18, both women and men. It’s true that whenever a new generation is born, we wish that we won’t send the children to the army, but in the end, this is the reality in our country.

While most soldiers maintain regular contact with their family members and return home on weekends, this is not the case for everyone. There are quite a few lone soldiers in the country, and there are various and diverse reasons for their solitude. There are Israeli soldiers who simply aren’t in contact with their family members but like everyone else, they must serve in the military.

On the other hand, there are also young people who grew up in families of Israelis living abroad, and upon reaching the age of 18, they choose to immigrate to Israel and enlist. These soldiers give their soul for the country and additionally cope with the difficulty of being separated from their family. Therefore, it’s clear why a warm home is among the things these soldiers need.

A warm home designated for lone soldiers alleviates loneliness. While other soldiers return to their families after staying in the field or on base, lone soldiers often have nowhere to return to. The IDF does provide various apartments for them, but the conditions in them are not good enough. Therefore, it’s clear why various initiatives to establish a warm home intended for soldiers cannot be given up, and the possibilities in this field are many.

The Emotional Support Provided in Warm Homes for Lone Soldiers

Anyone who has served in the IDF can unequivocally say that the military period is challenging. There is a wide range of roles that can be performed in the IDF, and some of them are very difficult. Soldiers who return home to their family members also receive emotional support from the family. In contrast, lone soldiers find themselves alone even facing the regular, not simple coping.

Therefore, it’s worth knowing that a warm home intended for lone soldiers offers, among other things, emotional support. A warm home for soldiers is a place where there are people who work with all their heart. They give their soul to listen, assist, and to dispel the feeling of loneliness that such soldiers might feel.

Therefore, if you thought for a moment that in a place like a warm home for lone soldiers the only support is physical, know that this is not the case. Additionally, of course, in such a warm home soldiers can also indulge in hot meals and attention, so the importance of the matter is clear. It often happens that the conditions the IDF offers to lone soldiers are not sufficient.

Although the IDF can often participate in the rent of the lone soldier, in practice, the soldier remains alone. Therefore, it’s clear why lone soldiers who discover the possibility of a warm home intended for them enjoy it very much.

How to Establish a Warm Home for Lone Soldiers?

In Israel, there are quite a few people with a lot of initiative, and some of them wonder how to establish a warm home for lone soldiers. This is actually a not simple challenge, as it requires many volunteers, a place where such a home can be established, and a host of other issues that need to be addressed. The good news is that in Israel there is also an amazing volunteer spirit.

Therefore, if you too want to take part and give those lone soldiers everything possible, you can do so easily. Establishing a warm home is a very complex project, and each of us has the opportunity to give in our own way. There are those who choose to donate funds while others help in all sorts of other creative ways.

For example, there are people who choose to cook hot meals for lone soldiers, drive them to any destination they need, or in any other way. When it comes to establishing a warm home intended for lone soldiers – the sky is the limit and any contribution and help is always welcome. It’s important to remember this because if you too want to take part in such a project, you can do so very easily.

Beit Almog Shiloni – A Warm Home for Every Lone Soldier

It’s impossible to talk about a warm home for soldiers without mentioning the initiative to establish a home in memory of Almog Shiloni of blessed memory. Almog Shiloni’s family members, already at the end of the seven-day mourning period, decided to continue his path, and they have a wonderful vision. The idea is to establish a center intended for lone soldiers which will be located on the outskirts of Wadi Anaba in Modi’in.

This is an area of no less than 6 dunams and will have room for 100 lone soldiers. In addition, each soldier who lives here will have their own private room, which cannot be easily found in many other homes intended for lone soldiers. The center by Almog Shiloni will also establish a leadership, values, and community center.

In fact, in this way, the residents of the area can be an integral part of giving and operating this important and special place.

Any volunteering or donations would be Highly appreciated
