Eulogy by Uncle Guy:

I remember the moment when Dad and Mom announced to us that Michal was pregnant. When we asked, “So… what’s in the belly?” Dad Yossi, with his typical sense of humor, asked us to guess. When we asked if it was a boy?! The answer was no. A girl?! No! So… then… “We have two boys!” Sahar and Almog, the first grandchildren of the Shiloni family.

As a child, you always surprised us with your depth and speed of thought. Within minutes, you would solve logic puzzles that no one else had any idea how to approach. I remember at my and Gili’s wedding, you came together with Sahar to help organize the hall. An energetic child, 3 years old, taking two large watermelons, one in each hand, and moving forward, a strong child! As you grew up, day after day, we understood what a privilege it was to be in your company. Your introversion was replaced by a special sense of humor like no other, giving and kindness, always the first to help with anything. The children were captivated by your charm and at every meeting wanted to be in your company, Uri couldn’t stop talking about you.

When you reached the moment of enlistment, you didn’t hesitate. You strived for meaningful combat service. When you understood that your profile didn’t allow it, you didn’t give up and pushed forward for meaningful service and enlisted in the Installation Security Platoon of Netzach Yehuda in the Air Force. Part of history in the making!

Almogi, we had conversations about continuing your service. I pushed and pressured you to go to an officer’s course, because how could a person like you not be an officer?! You were very conflicted and finally preferred to settle for a command course and stay on the regular track so that you could be discharged and marry the love of your heart – Noy.

This treasure was snatched in an instant by a human beast, a murderer who attacked you from behind like the lowest of the low, a predatory beast who all his life was trained and educated to murder and kill. Even in the last moments, you fought like a hero, you didn’t give up. You tried with all your might to fight and win, but your strength failed you.

Almogi, I ask that you watch over your dear parents. That they have the strength to move forward. That you watch over your older sister Lidor, the connection and bond between you was visible to all. Over your twin brother Sahar, flesh of your flesh, from whom you were not separated for a moment throughout your lives, step after step. Over Uriel who looked up to you in admiration and you were a figure and role model for him. And lastly, little Tehila, the love of your life who looked, accompanied, and missed you every moment you weren’t with her.

I promise you that we will be strong here to preserve your glorious legacy: the infinite giving, the humility, the determination, and the contribution to the community.

Almogi, forgive us if we hurt you.

We love you, The family

Any volunteering or donations would be Highly appreciated
