Almog Asael, hero of Israel, in his life he overcame his impulses and acted with modesty and humility in order to assist as much as possible anyone who crossed his path. In his death, he became a symbol when he physically defended with self-sacrifice dozens of people who were near him when he was attacked from behind by a cowardly terrorist, in central Tel Aviv.
From the terrible loss and adherence to Almog’s path, we decided to fulfill his unwritten will and try to assist as much as possible lone soldiers serving in the IDF who work day and night for us without a supportive family background. We established “Beit Almog Shiloni,” a warm home for lone soldiers in the city of Modi’in-Maccabim-Re’ut, with vision, faith, and unceasing support for four lone soldiers (first stage). The warm home provides significant support for our soldiers, is filled with all good things, and is supported by four accompanying families who have taken it upon themselves to embrace and assist our soldiers with whatever is needed. Due to the important national need and the growing number of lone soldiers, we decided to move to the second stage in which a larger home will be established that will contain 36 soldiers, corresponding to the number of the 36 righteous ones. In order to advance this enormous project, we, the Shiloni family, turn to you with a request to join us and be considered full partners by helping us raise what is required so that we can fulfill the national need, and thereby add a little more good to the world. By doing this, we will accept and see the different and the needy, embrace and strengthen them so that they feel equal among equals.
